Airport

The nearest airport is Milan Airport where we will arrange transfers from.

The hotel is right on the water's edge of Lake Maggiore on the western shoreline in the northerly and more mountainous

part of the lake, not far from Switzerland. The views across the lake are just incredible and can be seen from the

restaurant, our studio and some rooms (requires upgrade). As you walk out onto their terrace where you can have a drink

or lunch you can see the breathtaking views.

The hotel is a historic building dating back to the early 1700s and was an old monastery, from the 19th Century and has been

transformed into a beautiful hotel with lovely courtyards and an outdoor pool.

In 1902, the structure was taken over by Carolina and Giovanni Gallinotto who changed the name to Hotel Cannero. Maria

Carla Gallinotto, together with her family, continued its development by completing it in 2001. From 2024, the management

of the hotel passed to Maria Carla's children: Samuele, Annalisa, Felice and Alfredo. So it is truly a family run hotel and the

staff are exceptional in how they look after their guests.

The hotel owns 2 boats that they use for general excursions and private hire. The jetty is located at their sister hotel just a

short walk (3 minutes) from the hotel. This will be our main mode of transport to the painting locations.
